Sāgaradeva
Person바다를 팠다고 전해지는 왕으로, 분노로 인해 땅을 깊이 파서 바닷물을 담게 되었다는 사가라(Sāgara)와 명백히 동일 인물이며, 바다는 이 때문에 사가라라는 이름을 얻었다.
A king who dug the ocean (DA.i.91; MA.ii.689).
The reference is evidently to Sāgara (q.v.), who, through anger, caused the earth to be excavated, and the earth came thus to have the ocean as her bosom.
From this the ocean has come to be called Sāgara. Mahābhārata xii.29.
