Thūlatthana
PersonThe second son of Saddhā Tissa, crowned king of Sri Lanka on his father’s death but overthrown after little more than a month by his elder brother Lañjatissa, during whose brief reign he built the Kandara monastery and a shrine on Sirīsamālaka.

On his father’s death the ministers crowned him king, but after a reign of only one month and a few days his elder brother Lañjatissa overpowered him and seized the throne.
Thūlathana built the Kandara-vihāra (Mhv.xxxiii.15 ff) and a cetiya on the Sirīsamālaka (MT.355).
