Tissa Sutta3
SuttaEine Lehrrede, in der Mahā-Moggallāna den Brahmā Tissa zum Erlöschen mit und ohne Rest befragt, woraufhin der Buddha die von Tissa ausgelassene Lehre vervollständigt.
Mahā-Moggallāna, hearing the Buddha report a conversation between two devatā at Gijjhakūṭa, visits the Brahmā Tissa (6) in order to discover if the devas had knowledge of cessation with remainder (sa-upādisesa) and cessation without remainder (anupādisesa).
Tissa tells him what he knows and Moggallāna describes his visit to the Buddha. The Buddha tells him that Tissa had omitted to mention the individual (puggala) who dwells on the signless (animittavihārī), which he then proceeds to explain (A.iv.77 f; cp. A.iii.332 f).
