Personබුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ ඥාති සොහොයුරෙකු වූ අතර ශාක්ය සුප්පබුද්ධගේ පුත්රයාය. අනුපියේදී පැවිදි වූ ඔහු පසුව බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ කීර්තියට ඊර්ෂ්යා කොට සංඝයාගේ නායකත්වය තමා අතට ගැනීමට තැත් කළේය.
A cousin of the Buddha, son of the Sakyan Suppabuddha, who entered the Order at Anupiyā but later grew jealous of the Buddha’s fame and attempted to seize leadership of the Saṅgha.
