구십일 겁 전 한사와띠의 도공으로서 어느 붓다께 정교하게 만든 흙 발우를 공양하였고, 그 결과 이후 항상 금과 은으로 만든 발우로 식사하게 된 아라한으로, 후에 마하쭌다 장로와 동일 인물로 여겨진다.

An arahant who, ninety-one world-cycles ago as a potter of Haṃsavatī, gave a well-made clay bowl to a Buddha and, as a result, always thereafter ate from bowls of gold and silver; he is thought to be the same person as the elder Mahācunda.
