왕에게 잊혀져 왕이 그를 위해 처소를 지어줄 때까지 노숙하며 지낸 빔비사라 왕 제관의 아들로, 훗날 아라한과를 얻었으나 병들었을 때 부처님이 아난다에게 무상에 관한 열 가지 상과 관련 관법을 그를 위해 설하게 하셨다.
