歴史上の仏陀であり、二十五仏の最後の仏。カピラヴァットゥでスッドーダナ王とマハーマーヤー妃の子として、釈迦族の王子として生まれた。

The historical Buddha, last of the twenty-five Buddhas, born a Sakyan prince at Kapilavatthu to King Suddhodana and Queen Mahāmāyā.

ラージャガハのバラモンで、若いころ遊女に財を蕩尽した後に後悔し、教団に入って阿羅漢となった。アモーダパリヤ長老（Amodaphaliya Thera）としても知られる。

A brahmin of Rājagaha who, after squandering his wealth on a courtesan in his youth, was moved to remorse, entered the Order, and became an Arahant; also known as Amodaphaliya Thera.

仏陀が親族を訪ねた際に教団へ入り阿羅漢となった、釈迦族の一員。チタカプージャカ長老（Citakapūjaka Thera）としても知られる。

ピヤングディーパ（Piyaṅgudīpa）に住む阿羅漢で、ドゥッタガーマニー王の師を務め、兄からの逃避行の間に托鉢の食を送った。

An Arahant residing at Piyaṅgudīpa who served as teacher to King Duṭṭhagāmaṇī and sent alms food to him during his flight from his brother.

仏陀と釈迦族の氏族名で、あるバラモンの仙人の子孫であると主張される。仏陀への呼びかけとして、また拡張してその弟子たちを指す語としても用いられる。

The clan name of the Buddha and the Sākyans, claimed to descend from a brahmin sage, and also used as a term of address for the Buddha and, by extension, his disciples.

全名をアンギラサ・ゴータマ（Aṅgirasa Gotama）というバラモンの仙人。
