  • A millionaire of Sāketa and follower of the Nigaṇṭhas whose son married Anāthapiṇḍika’s granddaughter Cūḷa-Subhaddā; converted to Stream-entry on hearing the Buddha, he forcibly evicted the Nigaṇṭhas from his park and gave it, as the Kāḷakārāma, to build a monastery for the Buddha.

  • A general of King Yasapāṇi of Bārāṇasī and a past birth of Devadatta; his story is told in the Dhammaddhaja Jātaka.
