마나바라나와 둘째 왕비 파바와티 사이의 아들로, 임종을 앞둔 아버지에 의해 속죄의 뜻으로 빠라까마바후 1세의 궁정에서 봉사하도록 보내졌다

A son of Mānābharaṇa by his second queen Pabhāvatī, sent by his dying father to serve at the court of Parakkamabāhu I as an act of reparation.
