소의 서원과 개의 서원을 지키는 고행자들에게, 짐승을 흉내 내는 행위는 지옥이나 축생으로의 환생만을 가져온다고 부처님이 말씀하신 뒤, 어둡거나 밝은 결과에 따른 네 가지 업을 설명하시는 경이다.
