사냥꾼 수라(Sura)와 고행자 바루나(Varuṇa)를 통해 술의 기원을 설명하는 자타카로, 잠부디파(Jambudīpa) 전역을 파괴하기 전에 삭까(Sakka)가 지상에 내려와 삽바밋따(Sabbamitta) 왕을 설득하여 금주하게 한 일도 다룬다.
