Mahātissa
Person斯里兰卡 Bhaggari 一位阿罗汉长老,被列为菩萨过去生中 Kuddālaka、Mūgapakkha 等多次法会最后一批与会者之一。
An Arahant thera of Bhaggari in Sri Lanka, listed among the last survivors of assemblies such as the Kuddālaka and Mūgapakkha gatherings held during the Bodhisatta’s various past births.

The incumbent of Kambugallaka monastery who, together with his colleague Mahātissa of Kupikkala, persuaded King Vaṭṭagāmaṇī’s ministers not to abandon him, and was later put in charge of the monasteries they had built.

An elder who, despite sixty years as a monk, mistakenly believed himself an Arahant until his pupil Dhammadinna, using psychic power to conjure a girl picking lotuses, exposed the lust still in his heart, prompting him to strive and attain true Arahantship that same day.

An incumbent of Cittalapabbata troubled by lustful thoughts, whose teacher had him painstakingly build a cell and then occupy it for a single night — during which he strove and attained Arahantship.
