අඹ ගසක ස්ථානයක සිනාසෙමින්, තම පළමු පසාද කෙස් තැන දුටු විට ලෝකය අත්හළ රජෙකුගේ කථාව ආනන්ද හිමියන්ට කියන අතර, එම රජුගේ සම්ප්රදාය ගෙන ගියේ බ්රහ්ම ලෝකයට පමණක් වුවත් තමන්ගේම ඉගැන්වීම සම්පූර්ණ බෝධියට ගෙන යන බව පැහැදිලි කරන සූත්රයකි.
A discourse in which the Buddha, smiling at a certain spot in a mango grove, tells Ānanda the story of a king who renounced the world on seeing his first grey hair, explaining that while that king’s tradition led only to the Brahmā world, the Buddha’s own teaching leads to full enlightenment.
