一则本生故事，讲一位善于调驯的驯象师安抚一头在战场上被枪炮声与投掷物吓坏的战象，鼓励它视战场如家，象终于突破重重阻碍赢得胜利，此事讲的是佛陀的异母弟，他起初持戒只为求得应许的赏赐，后经舍利弗一番话触动，发奋精进终证阿罗汉果。

A Jātaka about a skilled trainer who rallies a battle elephant terrified by the noise and missiles of combat, urging it to feel at home on the battlefield until it breaks through every obstacle to secure victory, told about the Buddha’s half-brother, who kept monastic discipline at first only for a promised reward but was later moved by Sāriputta’s words to attain full awakening.
