බ්‍රාහ්මණ තාපසයෙකුගේ පූජනීය ගිනිය තමන්ගේම කුටිය දවා දමන ආකාරය කියන ජාතකයකි. පසුව මුවෙකු මාංශභක්ෂක සතුන් සමඟ ආරක්ෂිතව මිතුරු වී සිටිනු දැක, යහපත් මිතුරන්ට වඩා යමක් නොමැති බව ඔහු නිගමනය කරයි. ගිනි ආරාධනාවේ නිෂ්ඵලත්වය පෙන්වීම සඳහා දේශනා කරන ලදී.

A Jātaka about a brahmin ascetic whose sacred fire burns down his own hut, who then witnesses a deer safely befriending predators and concludes there is nothing better than good friends, told to show the futility of fire-worship.
