Personएक नग्न तपस्वी जो कुत्ते जैसा आचरण करने का व्रत रखता था; कुक्कुरवतिक सुत्त में वर्णित अनुसार बुद्ध से भेंट करने के बाद वह संघ में सम्मिलित हुआ और समय के साथ अरहंत बन गया।
A naked ascetic who practised the vow of behaving like a dog; after visiting the Buddha, as recorded in the Kukkuravatika Sutta, he joined the Order and in time became an Arahant.

According to Buddhaghosa, the personal name of King Bimbisāra, whose combined regnal name is nearly always used to refer to him; commentators differ on whether it derives from his large army or from the clan bearing that name.
