  • 一则本生故事,讲一位女神严厉斥责一名苦行者只不过闻了闻并非自己所有的莲花之香,却对旁边正连根拔起莲株的男子只字不提,她解释道对追求清净者而言,即便微如毫发的过失也显得格外刺眼,此事讲给一位同样因在拘萨罗林中嗅闻莲花而被林神斥责的比丘听。

  • A Jātaka in which a goddess sharply rebukes an ascetic for merely smelling a lotus flower not his own while saying nothing to a man nearby uprooting the plants outright, explaining that even the smallest fault appears glaringly dark against the purity to which the ascetic aspires, told about a monk similarly rebuked by a forest deity for smelling a lotus.
