王族の弟子がいつか自分の息子から命の危険にさらされることを見抜いた師についての本生譚で、危急の折に唱える四つの護呪を授け、その呪文が数十年後に実際に王の命を救うという話であり、息子が自分を殺すという予言があってもアジャータサットゥへの愛情を持ち続けたビンビサーラ王に関連して説かれた。

A Jātaka about a teacher who foresees that his royal student will one day face a mortal threat from his own son and equips him with four protective verses to recite at critical moments, verses that indeed save the king’s life decades later, told in connection with King Bimbisāra’s continued love for Ajātasattu despite a prophecy that his son would kill him.
