즐거움과 괴로움의 근원을 논하기 위해 사왓티에서 부처님을 찾아온 유행자로, 모든 유위법의 근저에 무명이 있음을 알고서 부처님의 신봉자가 되었다고 전해진다.

A wanderer who visited the Buddha at Sāvatthi to discuss the origin of pleasure and pain, and, on learning that ignorance underlies all conditioned existence, is said to have become a follower of the Buddha.
