Tittira Jātaka
Jātaka一則本生故事,菩薩為鷓鴣,是三位動物摯友——鷓鴣、猴與象——之中年歲最長者,因而受其餘二者尊為師,此故事因六群比丘對舍利弗失禮而說。
A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, as the eldest of three animal friends — a partridge, a monkey, and an elephant — is honoured by the others as their teacher, told in reference to the Chabbaggiyā monks’ disrespect toward Sāriputta.

Jātaka一則本生故事,菩薩為五百苦行者之首領,藉一位多言苦行者與一隻鷓鴣皆因多話而喪命之事教導眾人,此故事因比丘俱迦利多話而說。
A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, as leader of five hundred ascetics, teaches that excessive talk led to the deaths of both a quarrelsome ascetic and a partridge, told in reference to the monk Kokālika’s talkativeness.

Jātaka一則本生故事,菩薩為婆羅門苦行者,安撫一隻因誘殺同類而心懷愧疚的誘餌鷓鴣(被認作羅睺羅的前世),此故事用以說明唯有出於惡意的行為方構成罪過。
A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, as a brahmin ascetic, reassures a decoy partridge — identified as a previous birth of Rāhula — troubled by remorse over luring other partridges to their deaths, told to illustrate that an act becomes wrong only through bad intention.
