苦行者となった七人の兄弟が娯楽のため修行を怠り、鸚鵡の姿をとった帝釈天が訪れて彼らが真の苦行者ではなく単なる残飯食いに過ぎないと優しく叱るという本生譚で、同様に怠慢な比丘の一団に関連して説かれた。

A birth story about seven brothers turned ascetics who neglect their practice for amusement, until Sakka, taking the form of a parrot, visits and gently rebukes them for being mere refuse-eaters rather than true ascetics, told in reference to a group of similarly negligent monks.
