Eine im Jetavana dem Wanderasketen Vacchagotta gehaltene Lehrrede über die Sinnlosigkeit von Spekulationen über den Ursprung der Welt und des Lebens, mit dem Gleichnis eines erloschenen Feuers, von dem man nicht sagen kann, wohin es gegangen ist.
v.l. Aggivacchagotta Sutta.– Taught at Jetavana to the wanderer Vacchagotta on the futility of discussing about the origins of the world, life, etc.
The sutta is so called because the simile of a fire (aggi) is used. A blazing fire is visible, but once extinguished, no one can say where it has gone. M.i.483 f.
