Một danh xưng thị tộc chung dùng cho các thành viên dòng họ Kassapa, như trường hợp Ājīvaka Guṇa được gọi bằng tên này.

Apparently the general name given to those belonging to the Kassapa clan. Thus the Ājīvaka Guṇa (s.v. Mahānāradakassapa Jātaka) is addressed as Kassapagotta (J.vi.222) and again as Kassapa (J.vi.224, 229, 235).
