Placeジョーティパーラの友人ガティーカーラが住んでいたコーサラ国の町。コーサラに長期滞在中、ブッダはかつてカッサパ仏がジョーティパーラを教えた僧院を訪れ、そこで自らガティーカーラ経を説いた。

A township (nigama) where lived Ghaṭīkāra, friend of Jotipāla (S.i.34, 60).
The township was in Kosala, and once, during his long stay in Kosala, the Buddha visited the monastery (ārāma) in which Kassapa Buddha had taught Jotipāla, and there he himself taught the Ghaṭīkāra Sutta. M.ii.45 ff.
